The path of NET-JRF candidates taking admission in PhD in Allahabad University will not be easy. The university administration has made important changes in the process of admission to research in this session. NET-JRF candidates will also have to appear in Joint Research Entrance Test (Crate) i.e. Level One. Whereas in the previous years, JRF candidates were directly involved in Crate Level-2 i.e. Interview. In this, three marks will be given additional weightage to NET and five to JRF candidates.
It is to be noted that the online application for Joint Research Entrance Examination (Crate) has started from Sunday i.e. 24th April. The last date for application has been fixed as May 16. Admission will be given in 614 seats against 41 subjects. Of these, 227 seats are in universities and 387 seats in colleges. The maximum number of seats is 62 in Chemistry. At the same time, there are zero seats in Urdu, Persian, Agriculture Botany, Rural Technology. Through the crate, admission will be given in PhD in IVV, CMP, ADC, Ishwar Sharan Degree, Jagat Taran Girls Degree College, SS Khanna, Arya Kanya Degree College, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government Degree College, ECC.
Level-1 exam will be of three hundred marks: The written exam in Crate level one will be of 300 marks. The marks obtained in this are converted into 35 digit integers for Level-2. In this, 35 marks will be awarded in written examination i.e. level one, 15 marks in interview i.e. level-2 and 25 marks will be awarded on the basis of previous academic results.
Teachers will get exemption from Level-1: Teachers of IVI and College will get exemption from written examination for doing research. On the other hand, foreign and military personnel will not have to give written examination this time also. They will have to directly attend Level-2 i.e. Interview.
