Under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana (old Mid Day Meal Scheme), the arrears from March to August 2021 will now be paid. The order for this was issued in February 2022 but now the Mid Day Meal Authority has released the funds. Rs 636 will be given to the students of primary (classes one to five) and Rs 901 to the children of junior school (classes six to eight). An order in this regard has been issued by Mid Day Meal Director Anamika Singh.
This amount is being given from March 24 to August 31. Funds will be given for 128 days to primary children and 121 days to junior students. It also includes food security allowance for summer vacations. Apart from the allowance, ration will also be given but ration will be given only for the closure of the school due to COVID-19. Ration for summer holidays will not be given as the government was giving free ration under PM Garib Anna Kalyan Yojana. 9.4 kg ration (3.2 kg wheat and 4.35 kg rice) for primary school students for 94 days and 13.05 kg (4.35 kg wheat and 8.70 kg rice) for junior students.
Apart from this, the officials will specially inspect it and communicate with the parents and confirm the distribution of food security allowance and ration.
