QS World University Rankings 2022: Six courses in India’s best institutes have been included in the top 100 of the world in the subject-based QS rankings released on Wednesday. The highest ranked university in India is the Savita Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences for Dentistry, which has secured the 18th rank, while the Indian School of Mines (ISM) University, Dhanbad has secured the second best university rank. London-based QS said that four and a half years after the launch of the Best Educational Institutions scheme, its universities have made a mark on the global stage. Four of the world’s top 100 educational institutions have moved up their ranks in this ranking, while two programs have dropped out of the top 100 for their academic performance last year.
35 Indian Programs in Top 100
Overall, 35 Indian programs have secured the top 100 spot, 10 more than the 2021 season.
These institutions took the leap
Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) has moved up from 113rd rank to 98th rank in Mechanical Engineering. Whereas the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has now joined the ranks 51-100 in civil and structural engineering. He was earlier in rank 101-150.
Delhi’s two institutes in ranking
IIT Delhi has moved up to 92nd rank in Chemical Engineering, IIT Bombay 99th in Material Science and IISc in Physics and Astronomy at 91st rank. Delhi University is ranked 41st in Development Studies. At the same time, two management institutes of India, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad are also included in the top 100 ranks.
