NTA UGC NET 2022: National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the application process for UGC NET 2022 exam on its official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates can apply online for UGC NET June 2022 and December 2021 Merged Cycle till 20 May 2022. It is to be noted that the information bulletin of NTA has undergone significant changes this year. These changes are mainly related to application fees, number of subjects, exam centers and answer key objections.
NTA has increased the UGC NET application fee for the merged cycle of December 2021 and June 2022. The application fee has increased by about 10 percent. The application fee for general category or unreserved category has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 100 to Rs 1,100. Meanwhile, the fee for EWS, OBC-NCL has been increased by Rs 50, due to which these category candidates will have to pay Rs 550 this year. Finally, the application fee for SC, ST, Pwd and Transgender has been increased by Rs 25, candidates have to pay Rs 275 application fee.
UGC NET exam has been conducted so far in 81 subjects. However, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has added one more subject in the UGC NET 2022 exam. According to the information bulletin, UGC has added a new subject ‘Hindu Studies’ (Subject Code 102) in the list. Candidates can now choose from a list of 82 subjects while filling the UGC NET application form.
UGC NET 2022 exam will be conducted in 541 different cities. Last year the exam was conducted at 239 venues. The number of UGC NET exam centers has increased in the year 2022. NTA has also included the complete list of exam center cities in the announcement.
To allow applicants to register objections, NTA provides preliminary UGC NET answer key 2022 with marked answers and question paper, immediately after the exam. Candidates had earlier objected the provisional answer key of Rs 1,000 for each objection. Now, each objection will cost Rs 200.
The last date to apply for the exam is May 20. UGC NET December 2021 and June 2022 (Merged Cycles) will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. It will be conducted in two shifts for 180 minutes or three hours. The first from 9 am to noon and the second from 3 to 6 pm. While Paper I will carry 100 marks, Paper II will carry 200 marks in objective type question format. It is mandatory to solve all the questions. Each question is of two marks. The exam will be in English and English medium only.
