The education mafia did a scam in the amount of scholarship released from the department and got the scholarship allotted against the rules. When the truth came out in the departmental audit, it was found that only eight institutions have cheated about 75 lakh rupees. In view of the seriousness of the matter, Principal Secretary Social Welfare set up an inquiry committee, but the investigation could not be completed.
what is the rule
There is a rule to give scholarship to the Scheduled Caste students from the Social Welfare Department. Scholarships are given to economically backward students. If the students apply, the schools forward it after scrutiny, on which the Social Welfare Department sends it to the government and the scholarship is given. As per rules, the scholarship is neither given to the students admitted under management quota nor is given to the students getting on-the-spot admission in management quota. Along with this, scholarship is given for one course only for pursuing two courses equivalent to the same type of education like graduation. Not given for both the courses.

Eight institutions of the district allotted scholarships to different students in the year 2018-19 against these rules. The total amount of which is said to be around Rs 75 lakh. These include financial irregularities of Rs.4,42,00,000 in a technical institute in Karchana, Rs.11 lakh 20 thousand in a college in Jhunsi, Rs.12 lakh four thousand in an institute in Soraon in the financial year 2018-19 and in the financial year 2019-20. 30 lakh rupees, two lakh 70 thousand rupees in a technical management college, two lakh 80 thousand rupees in a college in Manda, 12 lakh rupees in two colleges of an organization in Naini and two lakh rupees in a pharmacy institute wrongly The issue of allocation came up.
Truth revealed in audit
This irregularity was found when the auditors of the department Kapil Dev and Anoop Kumar examined the financial accounts of all the institutions. Its report was also sent. After this, Principal Secretary Social Welfare constituted a three-member committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Director Social Welfare Manjushree Srivastava. Kapil Dev and Neeraj Madheshia, the senior auditors of the headquarters, were made members.
Did two courses, took scholarship in both
When the team investigated, it was found that a student left B.Ed incomplete from one institute and did BTC course from another institute. While took scholarship in both. Took BEd scholarship somewhere and later also took BTC scholarship. In a college in Handia, a student after B.Ed again took B.Ed and took scholarship for the same for the second time.
Deputy Director Social Welfare Department Manjushree Srivastava said, “It is true that some lapses have been found in the audit. An inquiry has also been ordered from the headquarters. Mistakes have been found in some colleges. Joint inquiry is ordered. When the team comes from the headquarters, the investigation will be completed.
