Know- Why Mock Interview is Important
The purpose of UPSC interview is to assess the suitability of the candidate for a career in the public sector. The line of questions asked in the interview can be quite difficult and challenging, so they are prepared through mock interview in such a way that the candidate does not get tensed by going to the final interview. Otherwise, their confidence should be reduced. Such troubles should not come in the final interview, so candidates should appear in the mock interview. Through mock interview, candidates will be helped to identify their mistakes. The feedback received from the mock interview panel also helps in improving the answering style, body language and voice modulation.
Candidates are advised to attend at least two or three mock interviews. It largely depends on the date of interview. If a candidate’s interview is scheduled a month after the main result, they can appear for four or five mock interviews.
Candidates should maintain a gap of at least one week between two mock interviews so that they can work on the feedback received in the interview before appearing for the next interview. Simultaneously, candidates are advised not to over-analyze the criticism of the mock interview panelists.
