While addressing a public rally in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah raised the issue of terrorism. He said, ‘Like in 1990, efforts are being made today to strengthen terrorism here again. National Conference and Congress have made some promises here that if their government comes, they will release the terrorists. Today I tell you people that this is Narendra Modi government, no one has the courage to spread terrorism on the land of India.’ He said that we saw the days of partition. We saw the days of terrorism in 1990. Be it Chandrika Sharma or Parihar brothers… everyone made sacrifices. Today I promise to the people of Jammu and Kashmir including this region that we will bury terrorism so deep that it will never come out.
The BJP leader said that the alliance of Nehru-Gandhi and Abdullah family, which spread terrorism here, wants to take your blessings again. Shah said, ‘The alliance of National Conference and Congress has always been a supporter of terrorism. Whenever the National Conference and Congress government came to power in the valley, terrorism has been encouraged here. Remember the 90s… I want to ask Farooq Abdullah that you were the Chief Minister here, you came to power by making a compromise with Rajiv Gandhi. Where were you when our valley was soaked in blood?’
‘They want Jammu and Kashmir to be terror-ridden again’
Amit Shah said, ‘On one hand they (National Conference and Congress) want to make Jammu and Kashmir terror-ridden, while on the other hand Modi ji wants to make Kashmir a developed state.’ He said that after the removal of Article 370, they (National Conference and Congress) want to end the reservation given to women here. But, PM Modi wants to give reservation rights to Gujjars, Paharis, Dalits and OBCs along with women.
‘Article 370 has now become a part of history’
The Home Minister said, ‘NC and Congress say that if their government is formed, they will re-implement Article 370. Should Article 370 be reinstated? The reservation that the Pahadi and Gujjar brothers get, they will not get it if Article 370 is reinstated. I am watching the atmosphere in Kashmir, neither Farooq Abdullah nor Rahul Gandhi are forming the government here. Article 370 has now become a part of history. There is no place for Article 370 in the Constitution of India. There can never be 2 Prime Ministers, 2 Constitutions and 2 flags in Kashmir. There will be only one flag there and that is our tricolor.’
