Mumbai, July 12 (IANS)| The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed several floors of a posh building in south Mumbai, where Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty lives with his family, due to rising Covid cases. Civil officials have given this information on Monday. A 30-storey building with 120 flats is Prithvi Apartments on Altamount Road, where several new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the past few days. After this some of its affected floors have been sealed.
As per the BMC’s COVID-19 protocol, if there are more than five active cases in a particular building, it is eligible for sealing to prevent the spread of the infection.However, fitness enthusiast Shetty and his family are currently out of town and are not impressed by BMC D Ward’s action.Still, he commented on social media “Lock in or lock out? Bolo, speak, tell.”Along with Prithvi Apartments, the civic body has sealed at least 9 other posh buildings in south Mumbai’s affluent Malabar Hill and surroundings for the rising number of COVID-19 cases.According to the BMC, in the second wave, most of the cases have been reported from residential buildings or skyscrapers as compared to congested slum areas.
