Aruna Irani, who worked in brilliant films like ‘Caravan’, ‘Bombay to Goa’, ‘Patthar Ke Sanam’ and ‘Bandhan’, gave many films in Bollywood during the 70-80s. Aruna Irani recently remembered her old days. He remembered his bond with famous actress Mumtaz. He told how while working together, his friendship with Mumtaz became very good.
Aruna Irani and Mumtaz started their respective careers as child artists. Both of them shared screen space together in films like ‘Patthar Ke Sanam’, ‘Tala’ and ‘Bandhan’. Both were such good friends that Aruna even used to wear Mumtaz’s old clothes. Aruna Irani has made this disclosure in a recent interview.
In an interview given to ‘Zoom’, Aruna Irani narrated an anecdote related to Mumtaz while reminiscing about the past. He said that I had a very close relationship with Mumtaz. While working together, both grew closer and became friends. Aruna Irani lovingly calls Mumtaz ‘Mumu’.
The actress told that she used to give me her old clothes. She would bring her old clothes from home and tell me, ‘You take this with you.’ She further said, ‘I used to wear those clothes after fitting them according to my size.’
Aruna Irani and Mumtaz were very popular in the 60-70s. Both of them saw days of poverty since childhood, but did not let them become their destiny. Rather, Mumtaz and Aruna Irani changed the lines of destiny on the basis of hard work and became stars.
