Mumbai: No matter how beautiful an actress is, her work is not successful without strong acting. But, despite both acting and beauty, many actresses have had to face difficulties. Sometimes her height became a problem for an actress and sometimes her beauty. The girl seen in the photo also had to face similar difficulties in the industry. Due to her beauty, she did not get the work she wanted. Many times directors would refuse to give her work saying that her look was too mainstream. So can you recognize the girl seen in the photo?
Actually, this girl is none other than actress Dia Mirza, whose beauty did not allow her to get the work of her choice. Dia Mirza’s father is German and mother is Bengali Hindu. But, even after this, Diya neither uses her father’s nor mother’s surname. She uses the surname Mirza behind her name, for which there is a different reason.
Dia Mirza made her Bollywood debut in the year 2001 with ‘Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil’. R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan were seen in lead roles along with Dia in the film. This film and its songs were greatly appreciated by the audience. Initially Dia Mirza might have felt that she could work in any film she wanted on the basis of her beauty, but it did not happen. Actually, Dia wanted to work in some meaningful films. But, the directors of these films believed that she was too beautiful for this film.
Referring to this in an interview, Dia Mirza had said that she did not get some films that she wanted to do, because the directors believed that she would be more suitable for main stream cinema. Due to her good looks, many projects in which she wanted to work were lost.
Dia Mirza’s mother is a Bengali Hindu and her father Frank Heydrich is a German. But, Dia uses the surname ‘Mirza’ because her parents got divorced when she was young. After this his mother remarried to Ahmed Mirza of Hyderabad. Diya’s father never let her feel the absence of her real father. Since then, Diya has been using her stepfather’s surname behind her name.
