New Delhi: Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has become one of the most awaited upcoming films. The star cast of the film has also been in the headlines for a long time which includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Another actor was offered this film but he refused the producers. Popular TV actor Aditya Deshmukh recently revealed that he too had auditioned for Ramayan, but had rejected the role.
The actor told that he had given his dates to the TV show Suhagan due to which he had to reject the offer of Ramayana. Talking to Times Now, he said, ‘I had auditioned for Nitish Tiwari sir’s Ramayana. I was selected for the young character of King Dasharatha. Mukesh Chhabra’s team was very excited to cast me in the film, but I could not because my dates were given to Suhagan which I have just left.
The actor further said that ‘After leaving the show, I called the team and told them that I am free now. I can do films and then they started laughing at me. On the other hand, he also appreciated my professional behavior and promised me that he would consider me for some other project. The actor said, ‘I regret saying no to the film’ and also revealed that Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram in the iconic Hindi TV series Ramayan in the late 1980s, was keen to star in Nitish Tiwari’s mythological epic. He is playing the role of Ram’s father King Dasharatha. The film is being made at a cost of Rs 600 crore.
It is being told that Ramayan is being planned as a trilogy and the makers will work on the first part with a team of VFX artists after investing one and a half years on the post-production of the film. According to the information, the makers can release the first part of the film on Diwali 2025. According to reports, Oscar-winning music directors AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer will compose the music for Ramayan.
