New Delhi. Famous YouTuber Elvish Yadav was arrested on Sunday in a case related to snake venom smuggling. Noida Police had sent him summons for questioning in this matter. After finding sufficient evidence against him, the police arrested him and presented him in Surajpur court. The court has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days. Before his arrest, his medical examination was done in the district hospital.
Last year, after the revelations in this matter, Noida Police had registered a case against seven people including YouTuber Elvish Yadav. After this, five people were also arrested, whose names are Rahul, Titunath, Jai Karna, Narayan and Ravinath. These five were arrested on the initiative of BJP leader Maneka Gandhi’s animal welfare organization PFA. Rahul, one of the accused, revealed the involvement of Elvish Yadav in illegal activities. Despite being summoned several times for questioning, Elvish Yadav had escaped arrest at that time.
Noida Police has registered a case against Elvish Yadav in Sector 49. The investigation is being done by the police of Sector 20 of Noida. The charges against the YouTuber include sections 284, 289, 120B and sections 9, 39, 48, 49, 50, 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act-1972. Samples of the suspected snake venom were sent for testing, resulting in sections being added under the NDPS Act. The police investigation in the last five months has strengthened the case.

NDPS Act: The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985 regulates the production, sale and consumption of narcotic drugs. It has been revised four times in 1988, 2001, 2014 and 2021.
