These days there is a controversy over the poster of filmmaker Leena Manimekalai’s documentary ‘Kaali’. The manner in which Maa Kali is shown smoking a cigarette on the poster of the film has hurt the religious sentiments of those who believe in Hinduism. After which people’s anger has erupted against film director Leena Manimekalai on social media. Leena is being protested across the country for hurting religious sentiments. An FIR has also been lodged against Leena in Uttar Pradesh. Indian filmmaker Ashok Pandit is also continuously attacking Leena Manimekalai.
Filmmakers Ashok Pandit and Nasir Abdullah participated in Aman Chopra’s show Desh Nahi Jhunjhun Dega on News18 India. Ashok Pandit says that at the behest of Nasir Bhai, I remembered the song of Mera Gaon Mera Desh that you, Leena, ask the filmmakers who consider themselves to be killed or left, Bol tere sath kya crime kar jaye.
This government should go and ask them or we should go and ask them how it came in your intellect. Nasir Bhai says who abused you. The filmmaker further says that Nasir ji, if someone misbehaves with someone’s God or someone’s God or someone’s God, then it is more than abusive. Abuse will be digested by man, but such indecency with any religion cannot be tolerated.
On this point of the filmmaker, Nasir Abdullah says that smoking cigarette is not indecent. My mother smoked cigarettes for 40 years, so did she become a dirty woman? On this, Ashok Pandit says that your mother would drink, my mother is God. Kali Maa is my divinity, my belief is my God. If you have the guts, then show any character of Islam or Mother Mary smoking a cigarette. On this Nasir says that I have no objection, smoking cigarettes is not a wrong thing.
Earlier, Ashok Pandit had tweeted and wrote that Leena Manimekalai, what else can be expected from a hater like you. Which is fed by #UrbanNaxals and #Tukdetukdegang. Your hatred towards Hindus will not be tolerated in this new India of ours. enough is enough. You have been exposed.
