New Delhi: Rajesh Roshan, son of famous musician Roshanlal Nagrath, made his mark in the music world. He was fond of music since childhood and hence he made his career in it. Coming from a family associated with the music field, Rajesh Roshan was born on May 24, 1955 in Mumbai. His brother Rakesh Roshan was a famous actor and is now a film producer. His father was a famous music director and his mother was a talented singer. Due to this, he developed a love for music from an early age. When he was 12 years old, a tragic incident happened, his father passed away. This was a turning point in Rakesh’s career. After this, Rakesh started working as an assistant in Hindi cinema.
History was created with a bachelor father
After her husband’s demise, Rajesh’s mother sought guidance from composer Faiyaz Ahmed. Rajesh then began his journey under the tutelage of Faiyaz Ahmed. This shaped his path to becoming the successful music director that he is today. There was a time when RD Burman and Laxmikant-Pyarelal were the big names in the industry. Rajesh Roshan asked Bakshi to help him work with Laxmikant-Pyarelal and the composer then created history with his debut film Kunwara Baap. His second film Julie also gained wide recognition from the audience and set a new record. From his first film itself, he showcased his musical talent. Every song of Julie became a hit like Dil Kya Kare Jab Kisi Ko Kisi Se Pyar Ho Jaye, My Heart Is Beating and Julie I Love You. These are the songs that are still on people’s lips.

After his success with Julie, Rajesh Roshan continued to give excellent music in many films like Swami, Desh-Pradesh, Kala Patthar, Mr. Natwarlal, Khoonbhari Maang, Karan Arjun and Koi Mil Gaya and impressed the audience with his work. Interestingly, not many people know that Rajesh Roshan played a role in the singing debut of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Roshan was the composer who gave Bachchan the opportunity to sing in a film for the first time.

When Rajesh Roshan joined Laxmikant-Pyarelal, he got his first big opportunity in the film Kunwara Baap. In this film, he composed the music for the song ‘Saj Rahi Gali’.
