New Delhi. Actor Jackie Shroff, known as Jaggu Dada of Bollywood, has approached the Delhi High Court demanding his personality rights. This application has been filed on behalf of Jackie Shroff against those people who are using his pictures, name, photo and voice without permission for their own benefit.
Jackie’s lawyer said that objectionable memes have been created on social media using her photographs and in some cases, obscene content is being created using her personality. The court issued summons on this petition. Now this matter will be heard again tomorrow i.e. on Wednesday. Earlier, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan had also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court in the year 2022 regarding his personality rights. In this he had demanded a ban on the use of his picture, name and voice without permission. In this case, Delhi High Court had issued an interim order to protect personality rights.
Actor Anil Kapoor has also done something similar. He had also filed a petition in the Delhi High Court regarding his personality rights. On this, the court had given personality rights to Anil also. Let us tell you that in many cases it is seen that small companies use the photos and voices of Bollywood actors for their promotion and sale of products, that too without their consent. This spreads misleading information among the people. People feel that the product in question has actually been promoted by this actor or actress. To avoid this, celebrities are becoming aware of their personality rights and are finding solutions to these matters through the court.
