‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ fame actress Jennifer Mistry had made many serious allegations against the makers after leaving the show. This matter had also reached the court. The verdict in the sexual harassment case against Asit Modi was announced yesterday. Jennifer Mistry has won the court case, but she is still not happy. He has shared his displeasure through a post on social media. In her first reaction, she told that even though she has won the case, she is not happy with the punishment given to Asit Modi. She says that she will not end this matter here but will take it further.
The matter is not over yet
The TV actress shared her reaction in a long post along with the video and wrote, ‘Declaring victory in my sexual harassment case. Asit Modi has been proved guilty in this case. thank you God. I made this possible with the help of my lawyer. My husband supported me during this time. My close friends, family and fans who actually believed that I wasn’t playing the woman card or giving cheap publicity or making things up. I was the only one holding on to the faith and speaking the truth, but it’s not over yet. Just letting Asit Modi pay my dues and compensation of Rs 5 lakh is nothing. He has not paid even 40 days after the decision in February. They have stopped my payment for the last 1 year.
Jennifer is not satisfied
Expressing her grief, Jennifer wrote, ‘I have gone through immense mental trauma, loss of employment and friends, loss of reputation, medical bills, expenses of the case etc. Amidst all this, I left my 10-year-old daughter at home. What about giving verdict for Sohil Ramani and Jatin Bajaj? There is no punishment for those three, so I am not completely satisfied. Still grateful to the Maharashtra government for at least looking into the matter unlike the police officers, but I will not remain silent. They proved Asit Modi guilty of sexual harassment, which I knew from the beginning, what’s new in this? What about the trauma I went through in the last one year, on the contrary, the culprits are roaming around freely claiming they are innocent. In the decision, Mr. Modi, Sohil and Jatin have not even been asked to apologize to me.
Jennifer does not accept the decision
Further expressing her discomfort over the matter, Jennifer said, ‘Since I was clearly mistreated while working at TMKOC and being asked to pay compensation is a minor thing, I am saying this because Because 5 lakh is a small amount for Mr. Modi. With such amount I feel that people like Mr. Modi will be motivated to commit such crimes, because they can get away with big crimes by just paying small amounts. I am not accepting the decision and decide to move forward without taking my money. Apart from this, the way the decision and compensation was announced, the self-respect of a woman cannot be assessed.
Jennifer further said, ‘This victory of mine may encourage women to come forward if they are being mistreated, but this is a big fight for justice. I wonder if the fight for justice is so difficult for a famous person like me then what happens to the common man. Satyamev Jayate!’
