Anti-corruption agency Lokayukta has taken major action in Karnataka. More than 100 Lokayukta officials are conducting raids at 60 places in 13 districts of the state. Raids are going on at five places in Bengaluru. The house of BBMP Chief Engineer Ranganath has also been raided in Bengaluru.
Simultaneous raid at 60 places
So far, cash worth Rs 6 lakh, 3 kg gold, diamonds worth Rs 25 lakh and antiques worth Rs 5 lakh have been recovered in the raids. Along with this, property documents have also been seized. Raids are underway in Galuru, Bidar, Ramanagara, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Mysore and Vijayapura districts. Around 130 Lokayukta officials are involved in the raids, including 13 Superintendents of Police (SP), 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DYSP) and 25 Police Inspectors.

Earlier there was a raid in January
Earlier in January, Lokayukta in Karnataka had raided the residences of government officials at 40 places in 10 corruption cases. The raids were conducted simultaneously in Tumkuru, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru, Koppal, Vijayanagara, Ballari, Hassan, Chamarajanagar and Mangaluru.
