Ghanshyam Nayak, who played Natukaka in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, passed away last evening. After which his last rites were held today at Dahanukar Wadi in Kandivali, Mumbai. Jethalal i.e. Dilip Joshi, producer of the show Asit Modi, Tanmay Vekaria, Munmun Dutta who played Babita, Amit Bhatt, Bhavya Gandhi, Abdul, Sharad Sankala who played the role of Tapu earlier in the show were present at the funeral.
The Mahant of Swaminarayan temple was also present in the last method of Ghanshyam ji. His last rites were performed at 11 am on Monday. During this, other actors of Tarak Mehta’s team were also present there. Dilip Joshi also became very emotional during the funeral. It is noteworthy that for the last 13 years in the show, the pair of both used to leave no stone unturned to bring laughter on the faces of the audience.
He was treated for cancer in April last year. But even after this, he continued his shooting. He had an operation a few months back as well. In one of his interviews, he said that once he will probably be saved from all the disease and corona. But if he is taken away from acting then he will die immediately. Ghanshyam Nayak was associated with this play for the last 13 years. Since then people know him only by the name of Natu Kaka. Apart from the show, Ghanshyam Nayak has also been a part of films like Nayak, Khaki, Shikari, Tere Naam, Ghatak, China Gate, Barsaat, Andolan, Krantiveer, Tiranga.
