Recently, the 64th Grammy Awards function was held at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences located in Las Vegas, USA. Tributes were given to many singers in this event but no tribute was paid to Bharat Ratna awardee vocalist Lata Mangeshkar. On this matter, actress Kangana Ranaut got furious and she demanded to boycott these awards function as a ‘local event’ and awards.

Kangana Ranaut wrote on Insta Story, ‘We must take a strong stand against any local award show that claims to be international, yet ignore and deliberately sideline great artists because of their caste and ideologies. Both Oscars and Grammys failed to pay tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. Our media should completely boycott these biased local shows, which claim to be global awards shows.
Tribute not given even at Oscars
Let us inform that earlier the names of late singer Lata Mangeshkar and actor Dilip Kumar were also missing from ‘Memoriam’ of Oscar Awards event. In that event also no tribute was paid to both the celebrities. Its displeasure was expressed with the fans on social media.

Tributes paid at BAFTA
Last month, the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) paid tribute to Lata Mangeshkar by giving her a place in ‘The Memoriam’. Let us tell you, late singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on 6 February 2022. She had become corona positive and she also had pneumonia.
