The Kashmir Files has rocked the box office. After recording an opening day of Rs 3.55 crore at the box office on Friday, the film collected Rs 8.50 crore on Saturday, registering a growth of 139.44 per cent. As of now, Kangana Ranaut has taken to her Instagram stories to criticize Bollywood over the silence on the film. Let us tell you that this film has been directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. Now this film has been praised by film actress Kangana Ranaut.
The Manikarnika actress revealed that no Bollywood star is talking about the film despite mixed reviews from critics and audience. Sharing the Instagram story, Kangana Ranaut wrote, ‘Please notice the pin drop silence of the film industry regarding The Kashmir Files film. Not only the content but also the business of this film is very good. The investment and profit of this film can be such a case study that it will be the most successful and profitable film of the year.
Kangana Ranaut also said, ‘This film has also broken the illusion that only big budget films or films related to visual effects are preferred in theatres. But this film has shattered these myths. This film is breaking every myth and bringing the audience back to the theatres. The 6:00 am shows in multiplexes are full which is an extraordinary thing. Bullydawood and his entourage are in shock. No one is saying anything, the whole world is watching them, but still they are not saying anything. His time is over now.
Kangana also took a dig at films that have reportedly rigged their box office numbers for the limelight. Recently, a blind piece suggested that Alia Bhatt’s recent release Gangubai Kathiawadi had set a box office collection record.
Kangana shared a screenshot of trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet revealing the box office numbers and wrote, “No cheap publicity, no fake numbers, no anti-national agenda… Desh badlega toh films bhi changegi, Jai Hind. ,
Interestingly, The Kashmir Files has emerged as the first choice for movie watchers despite big budget movies including Radhe Shyam, Batman and Gangubai Kathiawadi running in theatres. Unlike these movies, The Kashmir Files doesn’t even have any big stars from the industry.
The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi. But the film is being praised for its “sincere” and “serious” effort to bring to the fore the plight of over five lakh Kashmiri Pandits who had to give up everything in the Valley in 1990.
