In view of the huge crowd at the state funeral of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, her last rites will be performed on Sunday at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. A BMC official of G North ward said that the last rites will take place inside Shivaji Park. A crowd of people is gathering outside Lata Mangeshkar’s house and the police is also seen ready. National mourning has been declared for two days on the death of Lata Mangeshkar. At the same time, the Maharashtra government has declared February 7 as a public holiday.
Lata Mangeshkar’s last rites will be performed with full state honors on Sunday from 6:15 pm to 6:30 pm at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Prime Minister Modi will also be present at the funeral and will pay his last respects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted to pay tribute to Lata didi by going to Mumbai.

The body of Lata Mangeshkar will be kept at Shivaji Park from 4 pm to 6 pm. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the last rites of Lata Mangeshkar with state honours. In the final farewell, Lata Mangeshkar will be given a salute from the police and army. A salute of 12-12 rifles will be given from both of these sides.
The Central Government has decided that two days of state mourning will be observed on 6th and 7th February in honor of the departed personality and there will be no official program during this period.
