Bollywood’s ‘Dhak Dhak Girl’ Madhuri Dixit is celebrating her 55th birthday today. Madhuri Dixit married Shriram Nene in the year 1999 and then most people did not know about Shriram. Madhuri Dixit’s husband Sriram Nene is a cardiovascular surgeon and had no idea about Madhuri’s stardom. Even he had not seen a single film of Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri Dixit had told in one of her interviews that Shriram’s knowing very little about Bollywood was also the reason why she fell in love with him, because Shriram had no prejudices about Madhuri and her industry.
Shri Ram could only recognize Amitabh
After getting married in Southern California, Madhuri Dixit held a reception party in Mumbai which was attended by many famous Bollywood stars including some veteran politicians. All the legendary celebrities like Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu and Sridevi had attended this party but Shri Ram did not recognize any of them. In an interview with Simi Grewal after a few years of marriage, Madhuri Dixit told that her husband could only recognize Amitabh Bachchan at this party, because he had seen his films as a child.

Madhuri Dixit said, ‘I think he could only recognize Amitabh Bachchan at the reception party. He had seen his film during his school days, and it was ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’. So his reaction was like… Yes, I think I recognize him.’ And I said yes you know him because of that film.
Do not watch movies, but liked Devdas
In this interview Madhuri Dixit said, ‘Me and his mother, we once tried to show him one of our films. We said – just look at this song. And they said – can we do anything else? Let’s go outside and do something. He has not seen many Bollywood movies. His understanding about this is very different but he liked Devdas very much. Please tell that Shahrukh Khan’s film Devdas was released after 3 years of Madhuri Dixit’s marriage.
