Many other handles on social media also expressed similar sentiments, condemning the actions depicted in the video and criticizing Nana Patekar’s behaviour. However, director Anil Sharma, famous for films like ‘Gadar’ and ‘Apne’, came forward to defend Nana Patekar regarding the viral video. Sharma clarified that the clip circulated was a part of the shooting sequence of his upcoming film and was not an actual incident of Nana Patekar slapping someone.
Talking to a channel about the controversial video filmed at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi, Anil Sharma said, “I also came to know about this news. I have seen the video. Nana Patekar did not kill anyone. This is a shot from my film. In this scene, Nana Patekar had to gesture by placing his hand on the head of a boy coming towards him. The shooting was going on and it was filmed just like that. Someone in the crowd captured the scene on his phone and leaked it.”
Let us tell you that Nana Patekar, known for living a modest lifestyle and actively participating in social welfare programs for farmers in Maharashtra, is often recognized for his simplicity and connect with the common people. The controversy surrounding the viral video seems to have sparked a discussion on the behavior of celebrities with their fans and the need for responsible reporting and verification of such incidents before they are widely circulated on social media.
