Modi government has come up with a new scheme for recruitment in the army. The aim of which is to give opportunity to the youth to serve the country. Under this scheme, people will be able to serve in all the three wings of the army for four years. A section is opposing it, which includes people from politics to cinema. Filmmaker Vinod Kapri has also surrounded the opposition parties.
Vinod Kapri tweeted, ‘I am surprised that why the entire opposition is silent on India’s Agniveer on important issues related to national security? 75% of 18 to 22 year olds will become unemployed by the age of 22-26, but the bigger question is, should there be an experiment of 4-4 years with Indian soldiers?’ In another tweet, he wrote that, “Fauji again out of the army for just 4 years, hundreds of former army officers are shocked and upset by this decision of the government. They believe that a soldier becomes ready after years of penance. This new decision is playing with the security of the country.
On the other hand, film actress Richa Chadha has also reacted, she commented on the tweet from the Twitter account named Retired Major General GD Bakshi. Although this account is not verified and it is also not certain that this account belongs to GD Bakshi.
It was written from this account that, “I was stunned by the Agniveer plan. I thought it was initially being tested on an experimental basis. This is a big step to convert the Indian Armed Forces into a short-term quasi-representative force like the Chinese. Don’t do this for God’s sake.”
Actress Richa Chadha took a jibe at this tweet and wrote, ‘Now it’s your turn….’
Ravi Kishan trolled: On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and actor Ravi Kishan told about this scheme that his daughter also wants to join the army. Ravi Kishan wrote on Twitter, “My daughter Ishita Shukla, said this morning Papa, I also want to be a part of Agneepath scheme, I said – go ahead son.”
On Ravi’s tweet, Advocate Nitish Pandey wrote, “Think of those poor young comrades who work hard for years for a government job. To go on a 4-year contract?” Nilesh Pandey wrote, “Sir ji the leader should also be elected for 6 months only. He could not contest the election again in life, nor did he get the benefit of pension. Will you ruin the lives of the youth?
What is Agneepath Scheme? On June 14, the government has announced the launch of the ‘Agneepath’ scheme for the recruitment of soldiers in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
