New Delhi: Fahadh Faasil, one of the most promising actors of the Malayalam film industry, is in the news these days with his film Aavesham, which is a low budget film and is earning huge money at the box office. Even though this is not a pan India film, still Avesham has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. Fahadh Faasil, who is enjoying the success of his film, is also giving back to back interviews these days, where he is telling many things about the industry. Recently, in his interviews, he has expressed his objection regarding religion in films and has also revealed the reason behind it.
Fahadh Faasil does not like the factor of religion in the film
Actor Fahadh Faasil told why he has objections to religion in his films. In an interview with Galatta Plus, the ‘Aavesham’ actor said that people in Kerala are not ready to hear the bitter truth. Fahadh Faasil also talked about his film ‘Trance’ (Trance 2020) and told why the film could not achieve commercial success. Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim’s ‘Trance’ was a film that attempted to talk about the religion industry in Kerala. During the interview he said that religion is such a peak which he will not touch again.
People of Kerala do not listen to the bitter truth about religion
Explaining his decision he said, ‘I have my own reservations about dealing with religion in Kerala. If I may say so, I don’t think people want to hear the bitter truth. They want to entertain. He further said, ‘Trance’ lacked the entertainment factor, although there were a lot of things that made the society aware, but the entertainment factor was removed from the film at some points. Hence, the audience did not go to theaters to watch the film and it turned out to be a flop. Having said that, a correct second part ‘Trans’ would make a lot of difference but I won’t touch on religion in Kerala for a while.
Fahadh Faasil failed by showing the topic of religion in Trance
‘Trance’ is a psychological thriller starring Fahadh Faasil, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Nazriya Nazim, Chemban Vinod Jose and Soubin Shahir in lead roles. This film, released in 2020, received positive reviews although it could not turn into a success at the box office. Trance was made with a budget of Rs 35 crore but it could collect only Rs 13 crore in India and only Rs 22 crore worldwide. Based on the flop of religion, this film could not even recover its costs and was a commercial failure. Fahadh Faasil will be next seen in ‘Pushpa: The Rule’, ‘Vettaiyan’ and ‘Maresan’.
