New Delhi. The Meteorological Department has issued latest forecasts for the entire country. The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Jammu and Kashmir today and then heavy rain on April 27 and 28. Apart from this, there may be light rain in areas of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan. There are chances of heavy rain in the next few days in North-Eastern Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Rain may also be seen in other northeastern states. Besides, strong winds will also blow in these states.
The Meteorological Department has said that the effect of heat wave will be seen in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa till April 28. The Meteorological Department had earlier issued a yellow heat alert for 55 districts of UP. Large parts of Odisha along with the Ganga coastal areas of West Bengal and areas bordering the Himalayas are experiencing severe heat. The temperature everywhere has reached 40 or more. It is already very hot in the southern states. People are also facing humidity in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Heat waves occur in the country especially in the months of May and June, but this time the effect of heat waves is being seen in large parts of the country since April. At the same time, due to continuous western disturbance, there is snowfall and rain in the hilly states. The Meteorological Department has also predicted that this time in the monsoon season, all areas of the country may be drenched with more than average rainfall, but there is still more than 2 months left for the rains to arrive. Monsoon usually reaches Kerala on 1 June.
