‘The Kashmir Files’ based on exodus of Kashmiri Pandits has been made tax free in Goa. Goa’s caretaker Chief Minister Pramod Sawant saw the film and he has made ‘The Kashmir Files’ tax free in the state. Meanwhile, some Hindu groups in Goa alleged that despite having vacant seats in a multiplex, the show has been declared housefull. Before Goa, the film is also tax free in Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
Policemen will get leave
The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh announced that all policemen would be given leave to watch the film. State Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters that the policemen can take leave to go to see ‘The Kashmir Files’. For this, instructions have been issued to the DGP.

CM had tweeted
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the film in a tweet. He wrote, ‘The film shows the pain of Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s. It is necessary that more and more people watch the film, so the state government has decided to make the film tax free.

‘The Kashmir Files’ is directed by Vivek Agnihotri. He has also written its story. The film is jointly produced by Zee Studios, Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri. It released in cinemas on 11 March.
