Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’ has released today after a long wait. Akshay’s previous films have been successful at the box office, so he has high hopes from Bachchan Pandey. However, the path for the film is not so easy as ‘The Kashmir Files’ has created panic in the theaters at this time. The shows of the film are going housefull and so far it has made a record of earning. The performance of the film in the second week does not seem to make much difference. Now all eyes are on the box office collection of ‘Bachchan Pandey’. The collection figures will come on Saturday, but before that, let’s take a look at the advance booking of theaters on the day of Holi, after all, which of the two films is heavy on which one.
Advance booking statistics across cities
‘Bachchan Pandey’ seems to be getting off to a slow start in Mumbai. According to the English website Koimoi, 10 to 15 percent advance booking has been done and seats are filling up fast. Mostly there are evening shows. Whereas the advance booking of ‘The Kashmir Files’ is 70 to 75 percent full.
Talking about Delhi-NCR, here too Akshay’s film has taken advance booking of 10 percent. The pace of ‘The Kashmir Files’ slowed down in Delhi as compared to Mumbai and 60-65 percent of the shows have been booked in advance.
‘Bachchan Pandey’ doesn’t seem to be gaining much in Bangalore. At the same time, 60 percent of the tickets of ‘The Kashmir Files’ are booked in advance.
