There is a lot of craze going on in South films these days. Most of the South films are doing great earnings not only in the country but also worldwide. Today, only South films are being discussed everywhere. Not only this, South’s films are also earning very well at the English box office. But there was a time when South’s films did not get real recognition. South’s superstar Chiranjeevi now talked about this. He told about an anecdote when at a party he felt very bad for South Indian films and South Indian actors getting less attention.
Actually, Chiranjeevi was called in an award ceremony where his film Rudra Veena was to be awarded the Nargis Dutt Award. After the award ceremony, a party was held where Chiranjeevi saw a wall. The history of Indian cinema was shown on that wall. But seeing that wall, Chiranjeevi was very sad. Because less was told about South Indian actors in it.
Talking to The Indian Express about this, Chiranjeevi said, ‘I went to see that wall and thought that there would be something about South Films here. But there was only pictures of MGR, Jayalalithaa and Prem Nazir. Applying them, he wrote South Films. Apart from this he did not write anything about the veterans Raj Kumar, NT Rama Rao and Nageshwar Rao. I felt very bad at that time. He was like an example. He showed English cinema as Indian cinema. At the same time, the rest of the films were shown as regional cinema and did not give them respect.

Chiranjeevi further said that he is proud of the tremendous response Baahubali, RRR, Pushpa and KGF have received and the recognition their directors, actors and writers have brought to South Indian cinema.
Chiranjeevi further said, ‘Bahubali removed the difference between regional and English cinema. These films showed that we are part of the Indian film industry. We are proud of SS Rajamouli who has given films like Baahubali and RRR.
Talking about Chiranjeevi’s upcoming projects, he is now going to be seen in the film Acharya. Son Ram Charan is also with him in this film. Directed by Koratala Siwa, the film will release this Friday.
