Mumbai: Zoya Akhtar recently launched 3 StarKids. His ‘The Archies’ released on Netflix received mixed response from the audience. Shahrukh Khan’s darling Suhana Khan, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor started their acting careers with the film. Many of Zoya Akhtar’s films are the audience’s favourites, one of which is ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. Dil Dhadakne Do is one of the favorite films of Zoya Akhtar’s fans. The family drama was appreciated for its entertaining story and tremendous performances by the actors.
The film featured Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles. However, it is a different matter that apart from Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah, Zoya Akhtar had other stars in mind for the lead cast of the film. Zoya Akhtar wanted to cast real life brother-sister in the film. But when things did not work out, Zoya contacted Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh. Who had earlier been seen in the role of lovers on screen.

According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan were going to play the roles of Ranveer and Priyanka. During the promotion of Animal last year, Anil Kapoor had confirmed this and said, “When I said yes to Dil Dhadakne Do, you were also going to do this film.” Reportedly, Ranbir had to opt out of the film due to schedule problems.
Then, Kareena Kapoor also refused to sign the film because her motive for signing the film was to work with her cousin. In an interview in 2014, Kareena had called it her loss. She had told Hindustan Times- “It is a loss for me because I love Zoya, but could not be a part of her film. I’m dying to work with him. Inshallah, this is not the last film she is going to make, and this is not the last film I will not be able to do. There is still a lot of life ahead. Whenever they have a role for me, I will definitely do it.”
