99 percent of voters in Bihar covered in voter list revision, draft role will come on 1 August

The Election Commission of India (ECI) said on Thursday that 99 percent of the voters have already been covered under the special intensive revision (SIR) in the election state of Bihar.

The election body further said that the voters who have not filled their forms, the booth level list of deceased voters and permanent voters has been shared by BLOS/EROS/DEOS/CEO on July 20 with all political parties, so that they can indicate any error.

According to the SIR order, any voter or any political party can file a claim in case of any missing name by 1 September or object to the involvement of any wrong name.

It said, “99% of the voters have already been covered. BLOS/BLA has reported the names of 21.6 lakh dead voters. BLOS/BLA has reported the names of 31.5 lakh voters who have permanently migrated.”

It further stated, “BLOS/BLA has found that 7 lakh voters are registered at more than one place.”

The Election Commission further said, “According to the local BLOS/BLAS, one lakh voters have not been detected. Despite the efforts made by the local BLO/BLA, the forms of less than 7 lakh voters have not yet been received. 7.21 crore voters (91.32%) forms have been received and they have been digitized; Will be included. “

The Commission said, “The remaining forms are also being digitized with BLO/BLA reports to facilitate their verification during the period of claims and objections. According to the SIR order, the draft voter list will be published on August 1, 2025 and all 12 political parties will be given printed and digital copies.”

The draft roll will also be available on the website, which has been reiterated that as per SIR order, any voter or political party can file a claim in the event of names being released by September 1, 2025 or object in the event of incorrect name involvement.

Meanwhile, the proceedings of both houses of Parliament were postponed for the day due to the uproar of the opposition on Thursday, as they were demanding a debate on special intensive revision (SIR).
