Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday criticized the administration for not re-determining the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi holidays, while the government calendar mentioned that the holidays were “subject to the appearance of the moon”. Chief Minister Abdullah described the move of the General Administration Department as “unfair” and “hurting”.

“It is clearly written in the calendar printed by the government press -” on the appearance of the moon “. This means that the moon can change the holiday on the basis of appearance. The decision not to change the holiday intentionally by the non -elected government is indiscriminate and designed to hurt people’s feelings,” CM Abdullah wrote in a post on X.

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is being celebrated on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir, while the official holiday has been kept on Friday as per the January notification issued by the administration. The school and higher education, health and medical education, and Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itu of Jammu and Kashmir have been kept on Friday.

Ittu said, “It is completely unjust that Eid-e-Milad, which is a sacred opportunity for Muslims around the world, is not celebrated as a holiday on the correct date in Jammu and Kashmir. If it is not followed, what is the meaning of” on the moon, then what does it mean to change the discharge date from the elected government, despite the repeated requests, no action has been taken with the people’s sentiments. Should be. “R

In a statement, Mirwaiz said, “On the holy occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, I strongly condemn the gross neglect of the authorities, who have failed to resolve the holiday according to the real date, which is tomorrow, ignoring the sentiments of the Muslim community for the second consecutive year. The negligence done intentionally is unacceptable to the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir and they are unacceptable.”

He criticized the elected government for not taking any stance on this issue and said, “The silence of the elected government is equally regrettable, which has failed to take any stand on any issue of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.” Mirwaiz said that he will raise the issue during his khutbe on Friday in Srinagar’s Jama Masjid.
