Father seeks information from police about traffic challans of future son-in-law before daughter's marriage Rayadupalem: A father in Andhra Pradesh's Kakinada district sought information from police about traffic challans against vehicles of his future son-in-law before his daughter's marriage to ascertain his sense of responsibility and driving skills. An official gave this information on Thursday. The police officer described this act as rare and deliberate, saying that the man found it more accurate to assess the character of his future son-in-law based on his behavior on the road, rather than gathering information in the traditional manner. "The man wanted to know whether his future son-in-law was involved in rash driving, drunken driving or repeatedly violating traffic rules. We appreciated his sense of responsibility," the officer said. According to the police, the man had lost his wife several years ago and raised his daughter single-handedly. He said that this father, after facing many difficulties, educated his daughter and made her an engineer. Having recently found a suitable match for his daughter, the father on Tuesday approached the Rayadupalem traffic police with the registration numbers of a car and a two-wheeler belonging to the future son-in-law. Police said that the man believed that a person's behavior while driving often reflects discipline, patience and a sense of social responsibility, so he inquired about the old challans before giving permission for the marriage. After investigation, police did not find any pending challans or serious traffic violations related to the vehicles. The officer said he was pleasantly surprised by the unusual request and appreciated the man's responsible and practical approach in finding a husband for his daughter.
