New Delhi, July 18 (IANS). BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala reacted on various issues. He said the success of Vikram-1 is a historic achievement for India’s space sector, startup ecosystem and youth power, while the opposition has been continuously trying to undermine the country’s achievements.
On the statement of Syed Arshad Madani, Shehzad Poonawala said that some organizations and some people make statements only in the hope of getting Rajya Sabha ticket from Congress. Praising the same party under whose rule the country was divided on Hindu-Muslim lines and during which major communal riots like Hashimpura, Bhagalpur, Meerut, Maliana, Nellie, Ahmedabad and Jalgaon took place, in which a large number of people from the Muslim community lost their lives, shows political selfishness. Such statements indicate that some people are supporting Congress for political gains.
On the successful launch of Vikram-1 rocket, BJP spokesperson said that this is a historic moment for India. For the first time, India’s private sector has successfully launched an orbital rocket, which is proof that along with ISRO, the country’s private space sector has also achieved global level capability. This achievement presents India’s youth power, technical capability and entrepreneurial strength to the world. India has now joined the few countries which have this level of capability. The opposition, especially Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, has consistently raised questions on ‘Make in India’ and India’s startup ecosystem. The success of Vikram-1 is a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi’s negative politics and his statements.
Taking aim at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab, Shehzad Poonawala said that those who had claimed politics of change were actually doing politics of revenge. Those who talked about education reforms and schools, turned Punjab into a tavern. The drug problem has become more serious under the rule of the person who had promised to make Punjab drug-free. He claimed that the law and order situation in the state has continuously deteriorated.
Referring to a case of Delhi riots, the BJP spokesperson said that Tahir Hussain has been convicted in the murder of IB officer Ankit Sharma. Some leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party publicly supported the accused in this case and tried to link it to religious grounds. Aam Aadmi Party has been doing politics of defending criminals, rioters and those accused of terrorism and that is why questions are being raised on its working style in Punjab.
Taking aim at Congress, Poonawala said that Congress has been continuously insulting Indian culture, Sanatan tradition and Sanskrit language. He alleged that the ideology of Congress has been influenced by foreign mentality instead of respecting Indian heritage. Referring to an old statement of Rahul Gandhi, he said that Congress has a negative view towards the Indian state and its institutions. Poonawalla claimed that the comments made on Sanskrit language and Indian cultural heritage were an insult to Indianness.
BJP spokesperson said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, new achievements are being continuously achieved in the field of science, technology, startup and space in the country. Due to government policies, the private sector has also got opportunities in space programmes, which has resulted in historic successes like Vikram-1. Today, India is creating a new identity in the field of technology and innovation at the global level and this is the result of the potential of the country’s youth and the policies of the government.
