Start of a community radio station called “Voice of Kinnaur”
In Puh village of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, the Indian Army has launched a community radio station called “Voice of Kinnaur”, which was dedicated to the people of Himachal. “Voice of Kinnaur” has been established under the army’s flagship scheme Operation Sadbhavna. It aims to provide a local platform which is to promote local news, regional culture, share educational and health related materials and to broadcast information about important public interest.
The purpose of this radio station is to recognize the cooperation and sacrifices of local communities, who have played an important role in the creation of the country. The operation of “Voice of Kinnaur” will be focused on local subjects, culture, traditions and community issues, which will give people of the region an opportunity to present their voice.

The commander of the army inaugurated the radio station from the principal of Tripikes School, where the station has been established. Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant General Anandya Sengupta, GOC-in-C Central Command, stressed the importance of the station, saying, “Voice of Kinnaur is a symbol of faith and cooperation between the Indian Army and the people of Himachal Pradesh.
Local leaders and residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army. This radio station will provide an important platform for youth, women and apple farmers to express their concerns, share achievements and promote local initiatives. The station is expected to promote community participation by collaborating with local talents, schools and cultural institutions.
