After the completion of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, the Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced the dates of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

• Maharashtra will vote in a single phase on November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.

• Voting will be held in Jharkhand in two phases – on November 13 and November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Apart from this, the Election Commission announced by-elections for 47 assembly constituencies and 1 parliamentary constituency (Wayanad) in Kerala, which will be held on November 13. At the same time, by-elections for an assembly constituency in Uttarakhand will be held on November 20.

It is noteworthy that the by-election for a parliamentary constituency (Nanded) in Maharashtra has been scheduled to be held on November 20, while the counting of votes will be done simultaneously on November 23.
