Former TTD chairman reached Tirupati Balaji temple.
Tirupati: The case of adulteration in the Prasad of the world famous Tirupati Balaji temple is still not settled. Meanwhile, former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman and YSRCP leader B. Karunakar Reddy also took a public oath to confirm his innocence. He took a bath in Srivari Pushkarni and then took the oath during the Aarti. However, as soon as he started making political statements, the police snatched the Aarti from him and took him away. Later a case was registered against him under various sections.

In fact, amid the controversy over adulteration in the Laddu Prasadam of Tirupati Balaji temple, former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman and YSRCP leader B. Karunakar Reddy took a public oath on Monday to confirm his innocence. He took a bath in Srivari Pushkarni. After this, he reached the temple premises and looked very emotional holding a camphor aarti in his hand. During this, Karunakar Reddy took the oath while standing in front of the main temple premises.

B. Karunakara Reddy invoked the Lord and said, “Though political statements are strictly prohibited in this temple, I had no choice but to defend myself in this manner. I have never done any fraudulent work during my tenure. These allegations are malicious and politically motivated aimed at tarnishing the image of YSRCP and inciting public sentiments. I am taking this step out of frustration. If I am found guilty of any wrongdoing, I am ready to face any punishment. O Lord, I pray to you not to spare me or my family if I have committed any sin.”
Case registered due to political statement
As soon as Karunakara Reddy made a political statement during the oath ceremony, the policemen snatched the camphor aarti from his hands. After this, he was taken away. The police have registered a case against B. Karunakara Reddy and others under sections 189 (2), 196, and 223 of the BNS. Let us tell you that earlier in the day, the police had given a notice to B. Karunakara Reddy under section 41 when he reached the GNC tollgate, warning him not to engage in any kind of political activity in the temple premises.
