Former President of Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and prominent politician. Annamalai Abu Dhabi and Dubai are celebrating Indian Independence Day with many programs. During his tenure as the Indian Police Service (IPS) officer in Karnataka, he was affectionately nicknamed ‘Singham’ (Sher) to take strict steps against crime.
Annamalai, an engineer-turned-IPS IPS, finally left civil service and stepped into politics and wrote a memoir called Stepping Beyond: Revelations of a Real-Life Singham, in which he has described a detailed description of a decade experiences spent in police service. He has always been in the headlines for his impeccable speeches, nationalist attitude and commitment to public service.
Will address expatriate Indians
Annamalai will be the keynote speaker in four programs organized by the Indian People’s Forum (IPF -UAE) from 15 to 17 August. The three -day celebrations called ‘India@78 – Developed India: Journey to 2047’ aims to showcase India’s progress and future vision.
IPF – UAE President Jitendra Vaidya said, “The event is a confluence of patriotic celebrations and visionary dialogues, which underlines India’s journey to become a developed nation by 2047.” He informed that Annamalai will address the Indian community on national development, leadership and civil participation.
Vaidya further said, “Annamalai is a pioneer among the new generation leaders of India. His speeches have inspired millions of people, especially the youth, to proud their identity and contribute to the nation-building.”
All programs filled
Annamalai will participate in an event in Abu Dhabi on Friday, after which there will be three community programs in Dubai in the next two days. Vaidya said, “His popularity is so tremendous that all the seats in the four programs were completely filled in a few hours.”
