The government dismissed a video shared on social media on social media claims of suicide attack on an army brigade in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a “fake news”.
The ‘Fact Czech’ unit of the letter Information Office (PIB) found that there was no “suicide” or suicide attack on any army cantonment in Jammu and Kashmir and the video claiming a drone attack in Jalandhar is related to a farm fire incident.
The PIB said that the District Magistrate of Jalandhar has confirmed that this is wrong information.

“Some ‘social media accounts” in Pakistan and especially mainstream media have shocked coordinated misinformation, whose only purpose is to create fear in the Indian public, “the PIB said.
The ‘PIB Fact Czech’ unit also said that the video of the explosion in an oil tanker on July 7, 2021 was aired as a video of the attack on the Hazira port in Gujarat.
A fake letter in the name of “Army Chief General VK Narayan” also came up, while the name of the army chief is not. The PIB has confirmed the fake of this letter.
Another viral video claimed that the Indian Army used its airbase in Ambala to attack, which the PIB dismissed as false and cited a detailed press release of the Ministry of Defense to clarify the facts.
The PIB urged citizens to rely on only verified sources and avoid sharing any untoward content, reiterating their commitment to dealing with misinformation and protecting national integrity.
Videos claiming attacks on some Indian bases have been shared at a large number of times on social media when India thwarted efforts to attack the military and drone by Pakistan at military establishments at Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur and some other places on Thursday night.
