Successful test of 30 kW laser -based weapon system
Andhra Pradesh: India has successfully achieved a historic achievement in its defense capacity by successfully testing the 30 kW laser -based weapon system. Through this system, India on Sunday demonstrated its ability to kill a fixed wing aircraft, missile and self -rightening drones. With this success, India has now joined the specific list of countries like America, Russia and China, which has successfully performed such laser weapons technology.
“We are the fourth or 5th country in the world”
Speaking on this achievement, Dr. Sameer V Kamat, President of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), said, “As in my knowledge, America, Russia and China have displayed such a capacity. Israel is also working on it. I can say that we are the fourth or fifth countries in the world, which have successfully demonstrated this system.”
Along with this, Dr. Sameer V Kamat also informed India’s first 5th generation stealth fighter aircraft, Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). He said, “No such project anywhere in the world is completed in less than 10 to 15 years. We started this journey in 2024, when CCS approved the project. Our goal is to prepare this aircraft by 2035.”
He said that India also wants to start a new Aero engine program and for this there is a plan to cooperate with a foreign company (OEM), so that the risks in development can be reduced. He said that the Aero engine technology is a very complex technique, although we have learned a lot from the Cauvery engine. Kaveri was a fourth generation engine, but now the technology has reached the sixth generation. We hope that there can be some good news on it in the next few months.
Specialty of laser based weapon system?
The 30 kW laser weapon system is designed to combat air threats such as drones and helicopters within a 5 km range. It has advanced electronic war capabilities, including communication and jamming satellite signals. It can be used in both land and ship. This has increased India’s defense capacity in many domains.
Big achievement for DRDO
On this occasion, Dr. Jagannath Nayak, Director, Center for High Energy Systems and Sciences (Chess), DRDO also said, “What we have achieved today is a great success. We saw that we saw a fixed wing aircraft at a long distance, and at the same time killed the self -drone, and also killed the self -drone. And makes it deactivated. This is a huge achievement for our country and DRDO. “
