The inquiry committee of three judges constituted in the cash seizure case of the former Delhi High Court and currently posted Justice Yashwant Verma in the Allahabad High Court has submitted its report to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Sanjeev Khanna. However, it is not yet revealed whether the inquiry committee has given a clean chit to Justice Verma or recommended action based on the allegations against him. CJI Justice Sanjeev Khanna handed over the investigation to Chief Justice Justice Sheel Nagu of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court Justice GS Sandhawalia and Karnataka High Court Judge Anu Shivraman.

The Allahabad High Court Bar Association started an indefinite strike in protest against the transfer of Justice Verma.

However, when the CJI later ordered the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court that no judicial work was taken from Justice Verma, then the Allahabad High Court Bar Association postponed its strike. However, the lawyers had definitely said that his opposition against Justice Verma would continue. After this, Justice Yashwant Verma was sworn in as a judge of the Allahabad High Court on 5 April. The swearing -in was boycotted by the Bar Association.
