The Kovid-19 cases in India have crossed 3,700 on 31 May. According to health officials, the new variants of the new variants NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 are visible separately, but they are relatively light. However, 26 people have died since January 2025, out of which four new deaths have come out from Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.
These variants ‘ability to spread rapidly and patients’ health problems are becoming a major cause of deaths. On May 31, 685 new cases came out in a single day, causing a total of 3,395 from 2,710 to 3,395. On June 1, this number increased to 3,758.
State -wise status
Most of the cases in India have been reported from Kerala, where there are 1,400 active cases. Seven deaths have been recorded in Maharashtra so far and a total of cases have reached 485. In Delhi too, the cases have increased rapidly to 436, while Gujarat has crossed a total of 287 cases on June 1 with 82 new cases.
States like Karnataka and West Bengal are around 200 figures, although no deaths have been reported from Bengal so far. There are 199 active cases in Tamil Nadu and 149 in Uttar Pradesh.
Kerala is the most affected
Kerala has currently emerged as the most affected state. There have been 189 new cases in a single day. The state has increased the monitoring of ILI (influenza -like symptoms) and SARI (severe breathing infection). However, the health officials are saying that there is no need to panic, as the hospitals are fully ready.
According to a Kerala health official, “More RT-PCR tests are being done in government hospitals to conduct genomic sequenceing, while private hospitals are getting more rapid antigen tests.”
Doctors have advised citizens that if the nose shutdown, vomiting, stomach problems and sore throat are more than 4 days, then do the RT-PCR test.
The government and health department have appealed to the people to be cautious but do not panic, because all medical facilities are already ready.
The government has appealed to the public to strictly follow the Kovid rules. Wearing masks, maintaining social distance and avoiding crowded places is said to be necessary. At the same time, emphasis is being laid on extending the vaccination campaign rapidly so that the spread of the virus can be prevented.
Experts have warned that this new phase of corona infection reminds us of the previous Kovid outbreak, when the virus without vigilance took many lives and economic activities came to a standstill. Therefore, people will have to take precautions from now so that history is not repeated and infection can be controlled.
The earlier round of Korona had a profound impact on the health system, economic condition and lifestyle of the people. Pressure increased on hospitals, employment was affected and people’s mental health also weakened. Therefore, with the increase in infection at present, both the government and the public will have to take action by learning from earlier experiences.
