More than 20 schools in Delhi have received bomb threats through emails. Officials gave this information on Friday. According to the police, Richmond Global School, located in West Vihar area of Delhi, has received a bomb threat.
The Delhi Fire Department said that the fire department and Delhi Police reached the spot after receiving information about the threat of the bomb. Further investigation is on.
The incident took place at a time when about ten schools in the national capital and one college were threatened by an email in the last three days, after which the police took action and temporarily closed the colleges.
According to the police, in a bomb threatening letter wrote, “Hello. I am writing to tell you that I have placed many explosive equipment (trinitrotoluine) in school classes. Explosives have been hidden in black plastic bags very efficiently. I will erase all of you from this world. I will not survive a single survival when I see the news, because I will reach the school, because I see my mother, I will see my mother, I will not see a lot of lives. Earlier, on Wednesday morning, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya announced that according to the advice of the police, it would remain closed for the day.
According to officials, the schools that have received threats include St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School at Vasant Kunj, The Mother’s International School at Hauz Khas, Richmond Global School at West Vihar and Sardar Patel School at Lodhi Estate.
After alert, Delhi Police and Bomb disposal squad personnel were deployed in the school premises. Fire brigade vehicles were also sent to the affected places.
Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said in an email sent to the parents of the students enrolled in the school, “As per the threat of the possible bomb received this morning, and according to the advice of the police, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya will remain closed on July 16, 2025. The bomb disposal squad is completely cleaning the campus. We will keep you updated.”
According to officials, fire brigade and police teams were sent to St. Thomas School and Vasant Valley School campus after the bomb was threatened by email. The fire department said that nothing suspects have been found there.
Earlier, St. Stephen’s College at Delhi University was also threatened with bombs. Officials said the email claimed that the bomb was placed in the library.
The site has been evacuated and the Delhi Police’s bomb disposal squad, Dog Squad, Delhi Fire Brigade and Special Staff are present on the spot. The area has been sieged and intensive AS is being investigated. According to Delhi Police, nothing suspects have been found yet.
Delhi Police further said that no other college has given them any such information till date.
On Monday, two schools in Chanakyapuri and Dwarka areas of Delhi also received a bomb threat through email from Delhi Police. No explosives were found in the search operation.
