There was a fierce terrorist attack on 22 April in Baisran in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The next day of this attack, the Government of India ordered Pakistani citizens to leave the country by 27 April. Along with this, the Government of India took several major steps on Pakistan. Sunday was the last day for Pakistani citizens to leave India. From April 24 to April 27, in these four days, a total of 537 Pakistani nationals, including 9 diplomats and officers, left India from the Attari-Wagah border.

12 categories of short-term visa holders order to leave India

According to officials, 850 Indian citizens also used the Attari border to return to India from Pakistan during this period. 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, including a Nepali citizen. The Government of India issued an order to leave India for short-term visa holders of 12 categories. Officials said 237 Pakistani citizens, including 9 diplomats and officers, left India on Sunday through the Attari-Wagah Border Outpost. At the same time, 81 citizens went on 26 April, 191 citizens on 25 April and 28 citizens on 24 April.

Similarly, 116 Indians, including a diplomat, crossed the international border on Sunday and returned from Pakistan. 342 Indians, including 13 diplomats and officials, returned on 26 April. 287 Indians crossed the border on 25 April and 105 Indians returned on 24 April.

Pakistani citizens also adopted the road to airport to leave India

Protocol officer Arun Mahal, posted on the Attari border, said that between 24 and 27 April, a total of 537 Pakistani citizens left the Attari-Wagah border towards Pakistan, while 850 Indian citizens returned from Pakistan. However, some Pakistani citizens were said to have also taken the way to the airport to leave India. Officials said that since India does not have a direct air connectivity with Pakistan, they must have moved to other countries.

The last date for SAARC visas to go out of India was 26 April. This time limit for medical visas is 29 April. At the same time, visa category holders whose ordered to leave India by April 26 include – Visa on Arrival, Business, Film, Journalism, Transit, Conference, Mountaineering, Students, Tourists, Group Tourists, Pilgrims and Group Pilgrimage Visa.
