Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky and reiterated India’s attitude towards a peaceful solution to the Ukraine struggle.
According to the statement of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi thanked Jailonsky that he shared his view on recent events related to Ukraine. Modi emphasized India’s support in efforts to establish peace and reiterated the commitment to give all possible support in this direction.
The statement said that “the leaders reviewed the progress of India-Ukraine bilateral partnership and discussed ways to increase cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.”
This conversation took place at a time when Jailonsky said that Qiye is relying on India’s contribution to ending the war with Russia.
In response to PM Modi’s best wishes on Ukraine’s Independence Day, Jailonski wrote on X (East Twitter), “Prime Minister @Narendramodi thanks to the warm message of Ukraine on Independence Day. We appreciate India’s commitment to peace and dialogue.”
Jailonsky also shared a letter from PM Modi with his post. He said, “Every decision that strengthens diplomacy improves security not only in Europe, but also in Hind-Pacific and other areas.”
PM Modi thanked his message in a letter to Jailonski for his message and “courtesy wishes” on India’s Independence Day and also wished Kiyiv. Modi said, “I remember Kiyiv’s journey in August last year and have mentioned the progress in India-Ukraine bilateral relations since then.”
Modi said that he is keen to work to strengthen the “mutual beneficial cooperation” of the two countries in association with Jailonsky. He also said that India has always been in favor of peace and through “dialogue and diplomacy”, Ukraine will give all possible support for the early and peaceful solution of conflict.
