New Delhi. Before the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, today performed the first puja of Baba Barfani in the holy cave with the law. This puja is performed every year before the journey starts. According to the tradition, the formal beginning of the Amarnath Yatra begins only after the first puja. During the first puja, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir was also present along with the officials of the Amarnath Shrine Board. A photo of the first worship of Baba Barfani has been posted on social media by LG office. In this, the first darshan is being done in the full size of the Shivling made of snow.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha tweeted with the photo, ‘Har Har Mahadev!’ Salutations to Baba Barfani and performed ‘first puja’ in the holy cave. Baba Amarnath ji, maintain our divine blessings on all of us. Let us know that the Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3 in 2025 this year. The journey will run for 38 days and will conclude on 9 August. Last year, the yatra lasted 52 days but this time it has been reduced. A total of 581 companies of CRPF and other paramilitary forces will be deployed for the security of the devotees during the Amarnath Yatra. Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel will also be deployed at different places.
Every year lakhs of devotees come on Amarnath Yatra to see Baba Barfani. Last year, about 5 devotees visited the holy cave of Amarnath to see a Shivling made of snow. This time too, the number of devotees is expected to stay around it. Registration of everyone is mandatory for travel. The Amarnath Yatra is through two routes, one is Pahalgam and the other is Baltal. Although there has been a terrorist attack in Pahalgam recently, the devotees of Baba Barfani are full of enthusiasm.
