Rain estimated with thunderstorms in Delhi, IMD released 'Yellow Alert'

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a ‘yellow alert’ warning of rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in the national capital on Monday.

The rains are likely to get some relief from the humidity situation in Delhi. The minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 28.4 degrees Celsius and 74 percent of the air moisture levels were recorded by 8.30 am. According to IMD, the maximum temperature is estimated to be around 36 ° C.

The IMD has projected light to moderate rainfall, lightning, thunder rain and winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour during evening and night.

While issuing ‘Yellow Alert’ for the national capital, the IMD has advised the residents to be vigilant especially during external activities.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 96 at nine in the morning which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category.

An AQI between zero and 50, ‘good’, ‘satisfactory’ between 51 and 100, ‘medium’ between 101 and 200, ‘bad’ between 201 and 300, ‘very bad’ between 301 and 400 and AQI between 401 and 500 are considered in the ‘serious’ category.
