New Delhi. Hearing is to be held on Monday i.e. tomorrow in the case of using ghee mixed with fat and fish oil in the Laddus Prasadam of Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala in Tirupati. Subramaniam Swamy and former chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam i.e. TTD Board and Rajya Sabha MP YB Subba Reddy have filed a petition in the Supreme Court to investigate the allegations of adulteration in Laddoo Prasadam. Subramanian Swamy has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court demanding that Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu’s allegations in the Laddu Prasadam case be investigated.
At the same time, former TTD Board Chairman and MP YB Subba Reddy has appealed to the Supreme Court to investigate the Laddu Prasadam case by forming a SIT under the chairmanship of a retired Supreme Court judge. The Supreme Court will hear this case and take a decision on the petitions of both. Apart from this, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) member Venugopal Badarwada wrote a letter to President Draupadi Murmu demanding a high-level investigation into the report regarding Laddu Prasadam of Tirupati, in which it has been said that animal fat and fish oil were found in the ghee. In the letter sent to the President, Badarwada has also demanded that it should be mandatory to use ghee from Bilona desi cow in temples across the country.
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu had recently alleged that during the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government in the state, TTD prepared Laddu Prasadam by purchasing ghee which contained animal fat and fish oil. The atmosphere has heated up since then. Hindu saints and sages are also angry. Whereas, common people are accusing social media of becoming corrupt. At the same time, Jaganmohan Reddy says that the allegations are wrong and due to political malice. Andhra Pradesh government has also formed SIT to investigate adulteration in Laddoo Prasadam. The central government has also said that it will get the ghee tested.
