DMK filed against Waqf Board Amendment Act 2025
Several petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court against the Waqf Board Amendment Act 2025. Now the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party has approached the Supreme Court against this law. DMK has challenged this law and said that this law violates the fundamental rights of about 5 million Muslims in Tamil Nadu, as well as violates the fundamental rights of about 200 million Muslims across the country.
All the petitions filed in the Supreme Court so far against the Waqf Board Amendment Act 2025 have been said that it is a conspiracy to take away the religious freedom of Muslims. The petitions have demanded to declare this law unconstitutional. The petitioners have demanded a quick hearing from the petitions filed.
Petitions filed in Supreme Court
So far, Congress MP Mohammad Javed in the Supreme Court, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan, Association for the Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani, Kerala’s top Muslim body, Kerala Jamiyatul Ulema, SDPI, SDPI and Indian The League has filed petitions.
Law made after passing the bill
Explain that in the Lok Sabha, 288 votes were cast in favor of this bill and 232 votes in protest, while in Rajya Sabha there were 132 votes in favor of this bill and 95 votes against it. The bill was approved by the President on Saturday after passing both houses of Parliament. With this, it became a law. After the law was enacted by this bill, many opposition parties, including the Congress, are opposing it. Many parties including RJD, DMK have described this law as anti -constitution.
