Hearing in Supreme Court regarding pollution

A hearing was held again in the Supreme Court today regarding the serious level of pollution in Delhi-NCR. The Supreme Court said that our suggestion is to observe the AQI level for the next two days. Bring the data day after tomorrow and then we will see what has been the trend in the last two days? After this, a decision will be taken on the matter related to opening of educational institutions.

Next hearing is on 28th November

Along with this, the Supreme Court asked the Air Quality Management Committee to immediately decide whether schools will open or not. The court will decide in the next hearing whether the provisions of GRAP-4 will be relaxed or not. The next hearing will be on Thursday 28 November.

Supreme Court is harsh on Delhi Police

Along with this, the Supreme Court asked Delhi Police why check posts were installed only at 23 places? We will direct the CAQM Commission to prosecute the Delhi Police Commissioner under Section 14. The court said that we will direct CAQM to issue show cause notices to all the agencies, seek their replies and prosecute them.

GRAP- 4 guidelines were not followed properly

The court said that the Delhi government did not properly follow the guidelines of GRAP- 4 between November 18 and 23. Appropriate steps were not taken to stop trucks from coming to Delhi.

Physical classes were stopped

ASG Aishwarya Bhati said that according to AQI yesterday we were at the stage of GRAP 2 but till today the AQI is around 324. Aishwarya Bhati told the court that the ban on physical classes for schools continues. In NCR, all physical classes have been stopped for Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
